Design Challenge
Branding, Visual Design, Rapid Prototyping
Time Limit: 2 days
Redesign parts of a website for the world’s largest museum: The Louvre. Create a seamless experience for someone who has never been to the Louvre before and is curious to learn more information about a famous masterpiece, the ‘Mona Lisa’.

DISCOVERING THE PROBLEM?
Who are the users?
What issues do users experience with the current model?
What aspects of the current model work, and what does not?
How can the visual design be improved to create a seamless experience?

USER JOURNEY MAPPING

My user journey mapping exposed a collection of repetitive issues. The culmination of design issues creates an uneven experience that lacks the full potential of the content. Through my journey mapping I found the following:

COMPETITIVE RESEARCH
THE MET HOMEPAGE

MoMA COLLECTIONS PAGE

MFA BOSTON ART PAGE

DESIGN GUIDE

ITERATIVE PROTOTYPING

FINAL DESIGNS

HOMEPAGE

PAINTINGS PAGE

MONA LISA PAGE

REFLECTION
Reflecting upon this experience, I found that the time crunch pushed me to go more with my instincts. If I were to continue on with this project, I would want to do real user testing with a group, in addition to an online survey about user experience. Additionally, due to the amount of wireframes there are, it would be interesting to expand the design into every part of the site. Overall, with more time I would:
Survey users
Interview a small group more in depth for better understanding of content
Consider the marketing and advertising side of the layout
Conduct both qualitative and quantitative analysis on the site to see if aspects such as scroll time and the information architecture display areas of weakness
